ZenaTech, a technology provider based in British Columbia, is eyeing a significant opportunity to supply the United States government with advanced artificial intelligence-powered drone-based defence solutions. The company’s ZenaDrone lineup is poised to meet the growing demand within the defence sector, driven by recent regulatory and strategic developments.
Shaun Passley, founder and CEO of ZenaTech, emphasises the critical role of drones in modern national security operations. “Recent developments reinforce the clear reality that drones are now foundational to national security operations,” he states. This assertion aligns with the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau’s recent updates, which signal a regulatory shift towards compliant drone technologies.
The U.S. is accelerating efforts to secure trusted supply chains and fortify its defences against drone threats. ZenaDrone is strategically positioned to capitalise on this environment. The company is pursuing Blue UAS certification, ensuring its platforms are fully compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Additionally, ZenaDrone’s manufacturing facilities are based in the U.S., further strengthening its alignment with national security priorities.
“We intend to continue our ongoing focus on delivering secure and compliant drone solutions for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), inspection, critical cargo, and infrastructure protection, which we believe meet the evolving needs of defence and government customers,” Passley says.
ZenaTech’s product lineup includes the rugged ZenaDrone 1000, a military-grade drone tested by the U.S. Air Force and Navy Reserve, capable of carrying up to 40 kilograms. The company also offers the IQ Nano, a smaller drone designed for indoor applications in environments without GPS, such as warehouses or military facilities. This drone is tailored for tasks like inventory management and security surveillance.
Another notable product is the IQ Square, engineered for land surveys, infrastructure inspections, road and bridge inspections, and defence reconnaissance tasks. These solutions underscore ZenaTech’s commitment to providing versatile and robust drone technologies for a range of mission-critical operations.
Founded in 2017, ZenaTech is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker ZENA. The company’s strategic focus on compliance, security, and advanced technology positions it as a key player in the evolving landscape of drone-based defence solutions. As the U.S. continues to prioritise drone technologies in its national security framework, ZenaTech’s innovations are likely to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of defence and government operations.
