A groundbreaking collaboration between Babcock International Group, Critical Infrastructure Technologies Corp. (CiTech), and Draganfly Inc. is set to redefine defence and security strategies across the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership, announced on Monday, will focus on defence modernization, maritime and border security, disaster response, and critical infrastructure protection. This alliance brings together Babcock’s extensive defence engineering expertise, CiTech’s advanced digital security systems, and Draganfly’s rapid-response Commander 3XL drones.
The collaboration aims to leverage unmanned systems, mission-critical engineering, and digital architectures to address the evolving security needs of the Asia-Pacific. Babcock, with its vast experience in fleet management, naval support, and defence program delivery, will play a crucial role in integrating these technologies into operational frameworks. CiTech, through its subsidiary, will contribute advanced digital mission systems, integrated sensor platforms, and national security technologies. Draganfly will provide its unmanned aerial systems, including the Commander 3XL, known for rapid response and aerial intelligence.
“We see significant opportunity to contribute to long-term defence modernization programs that require interoperable, high-assurance technologies,” said Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly. “The demand for resilient, sovereign mission capabilities across the region continues to grow, and Draganfly is well-positioned to support that evolution with dependable, mission-ready solutions.”
The partnership comes on the heels of Draganfly’s recent success in securing two significant orders for its Commander 3XL drones. Last month, the company was part of the first phase of a formal evaluation program to expand drone use across military missions. Additionally, Draganfly received a second purchase order from a Fortune 50 telecommunications provider in November. This agreement involves supplying Commander 3XL units to support a drone fleet for emergency response and post-disaster communications.
Draganfly’s stock (DPRO) climbed 3% higher on Monday following the announcement of the collaborative framework. Retail sentiment for DPRO on Stocktwits shifted from ‘bearish’ to ‘neutral,’ with some users predicting the stock could reach $10 by the end of the year. Year-to-date, DPRO has seen a substantial gain of around 90%, reflecting strong investor confidence in the company’s growth prospects.
This strategic alliance underscores the increasing importance of integrating advanced technologies into defence and security operations. By combining their respective strengths, Babcock, CiTech, and Draganfly are poised to deliver innovative solutions that meet the complex challenges of modern security environments. The collaboration not only highlights the potential for technological advancements in defence but also sets a precedent for future partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region.
