EDGE Group and L3Harris Strengthen Defence Ties with Strategic MoU

Emirati defence technology powerhouse EDGE Group and US-based L3Harris Technologies have solidified their strategic partnership with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 18 November 2025. The agreement marks a significant step forward in their collaboration, aiming to bolster the United Arab Emirates’ defence capabilities and expand L3Harris’ footprint in the Middle East and beyond.

The MoU serves as a strategic framework for developing innovative solutions that will contribute to the UAE’s defence sector. It also lays the groundwork for joint research and development in artificial intelligence and autonomy, as well as the deployment of these cutting-edge technologies.

Christopher Kubasik, chairman and CEO of L3Harris, emphasized the importance of partnerships in achieving their Trusted Disruptor strategy. “Partnerships are a hallmark of our Trusted Disruptor strategy, and EDGE is the kind of disruptive innovator we’re seeking to collaborate with,” he stated. “Together, we’ll accelerate the development and delivery of the advanced solutions the UAE needs to confront emerging threats.”

Hamad Al Marar, managing director and CEO of EDGE Group, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the mutual benefits of the collaboration. “Partnering with L3Harris will provide the groundwork for further close collaboration in critical areas supporting EDGE’s product development roadmap, particularly in domains where we are rapidly progressing,” he said. “Growth through such mutually beneficial co-operation enables us to be perpetually ready to develop and deliver breakthrough solutions that meet the requirements of our global customers.”

The MoU will enable both companies to jointly pursue national and regional defence opportunities, leveraging their combined expertise and resources. L3Harris has a longstanding relationship with the UAE, having provided capabilities to customers in the country for over 35 years and maintaining a corporate office in Abu Dhabi.

This strategic alliance underscores the growing trend of international defence collaborations, as nations and companies seek to enhance their capabilities through shared innovation and technology. By joining forces, EDGE and L3Harris are poised to make significant strides in advancing defence technologies, particularly in the realms of AI and autonomy, ultimately contributing to a more secure and technologically advanced future for the UAE and beyond.
