Offset Labs, a startup at the forefront of applying artificial intelligence to defence and security, has secured €600,000 in pre-Seed funding to advance NATO-allied defence technologies. The round was led by Archangel, Europe’s first dedicated defence investment platform, with participation from Amadeus Capital Partners and Seven Capital. This investment underscores a strategic push to solidify Western technological superiority in the defence sector through AI-driven innovation.
Borys Nadykto, CEO and Co-founder of Offset Labs, emphasised the critical role of AI in shaping the future of defence: “AI represents the next opportunity for a qualitative offset in defence, offering the free world a chance to solidify its technological advantage. The challenge is that AI’s nature demands unified scaling across data, talent, and infrastructure. That’s why Offset Labs exists—to bring everything from data curation to research under one roof and unlock deep AI innovation for defence customers, ensuring Western leadership in this critical domain.”
Founded in 2024 by engineers Denys Budnyk, Borys Nadykto, and Andrii Yakovyna, Offset Labs operates from London and Kyiv, with a mission to deliver a “decisive AI advantage achieved through technological superiority for NATO Allies.” The team has already designed and deployed specialised AI models for signal and voice processing in operational environments, positioning the company as a key player in the defence AI landscape.
Archangel’s investment will accelerate Offset Labs’ mission to provide next-generation AI solutions that strengthen the resilience and capabilities of allied defence ecosystems. “We are delighted to lead Offset Labs’ round,” said Nicholas Nelson, General Partner at Archangel. “They represent the best of European defence innovation: tenacious, mission-driven founders, solving very real critical needs, with technology that can provide military superiority. We are proud to back the team, their vision, and provide hands-on support to their growth at a critical time for defence technology.”
This investment aligns with Archangel’s strategy to support Europe’s most ambitious defence-first founders, ensuring that allied nations maintain and grow a decisive advantage in the evolving international security landscape. As AI continues to redefine defence capabilities, Offset Labs’ work could set a new standard for how NATO allies leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance operational effectiveness and strategic advantage.
The collaboration between Offset Labs and Archangel highlights a broader trend in the defence sector: the increasing importance of AI in shaping military strategy and operational outcomes. By uniting data, talent, and infrastructure under a single vision, Offset Labs aims to bridge the gap between research and real-world defence applications, ensuring that Western forces remain at the forefront of technological innovation. As the geopolitical landscape evolves, such partnerships will be crucial in maintaining a competitive edge and safeguarding national security interests.
