Bondada Engineering Enters Defence Sector with New Subsidiary

Bondada Engineering, a diversified player in telecom, renewable energy, and infrastructure, has taken a bold step into the defence technology sector with the incorporation of its subsidiary, Bondada Dynamics. This strategic move underscores the company’s ambition to capitalise on India’s growing focus on self-reliance in defence and aerospace, aligning with the government’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” initiatives.

Incorporated on 18 August 2025 in Hyderabad, Telangana, Bondada Dynamics is poised to become a key player in defence technology. The subsidiary, with an authorised capital of Rs 6 crore and a paid-up capital of Rs 60 lakh, will engage in a wide range of activities—from research and development to manufacturing, maintenance, and consultancy services. Bondada Engineering holds a 70% stake in the new entity, signalling a significant commitment to this high-value sector.

The company’s foray into defence technology is not just a diversification play but a strategic response to India’s evolving defence needs. Bondada Dynamics will focus on designing, developing, and manufacturing hardware, software, and electronic systems for defence, space, and civilian applications. Its services will extend to training, consultancy, and original development and manufacturing (ODM), positioning it as a comprehensive solutions provider in the defence ecosystem.

“This subsidiary will serve as a dedicated vehicle for our entry into the defence sector,” the company stated. By leveraging its expertise in engineering, project execution, and innovation, Bondada Dynamics aims to contribute to indigenisation and high-value engineering projects, reinforcing India’s strategic autonomy.

The move comes at a time when the Indian government is aggressively pushing for self-sufficiency in defence production. With the defence sector opening up to private players and the government’s push for domestic manufacturing, Bondada Dynamics is well-positioned to capitalise on emerging opportunities. The company plans to collaborate with research institutions, academia, and industry partners to develop intellectual property and advanced manufacturing technologies, further strengthening India’s defence capabilities.

Bondada Engineering’s recent financial performance—with a 150.12% surge in net profit to Rs 111.88 crore in FY25—demonstrates its operational strength and financial stability. This robust foundation will be crucial as Bondada Dynamics navigates the complexities of the defence sector, where precision, reliability, and innovation are paramount.

As India continues to invest in modernising its defence infrastructure, Bondada Dynamics’ entry into the sector could not be more timely. The company’s ability to integrate its existing engineering expertise with cutting-edge defence technology will be critical in shaping its success. By fostering partnerships and driving innovation, Bondada Dynamics has the potential to become a cornerstone of India’s defence industrial base, contributing to both national security and economic growth.
