Milrem Robotics, a global leader in robotic and autonomous systems, has taken a significant step forward in unmanned combat support capabilities by successfully integrating the BURIA remote weapon station (RWS) onto its THeMIS unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). The collaboration with Ukrainian defence technology company Frontline has yielded a powerful new tool for modern warfare, validated through live-fire trials in Ukraine under operationally relevant conditions.
The BURIA RWS, equipped with a 40mm automatic grenade launcher, was seamlessly integrated with Milrem’s THeMIS platform, demonstrating precise target engagement at distances of up to 1,100 meters. During the live-fire trials, the THeMIS Combat showcased excellent stability and target tracking, confirming the accuracy and effectiveness of this remotely operated fire support system. The successful firing further underscores the versatility of the THeMIS platform in handling various kinetic payloads.
