ConvergX and GreyLevel have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the commercialization of dual-use technologies, bridging Alberta’s industrial capabilities with Yukon’s Arctic testing environment. This collaboration aims to fast-track innovation from Canada’s industrial heartland to the Arctic, delivering impact across Canada and to NATO allies and partner nations.
The partnership will unite Alberta’s robust industrial and research ecosystem with Yukon’s strategic Arctic testing and operational environment. By leveraging cross-sector synergies—connecting defence, aerospace, space, security, energy, mining, agriculture, manufacturing, motorsports, military, medicine, and technology industries—the initiative will drive the deployment of mission-ready capabilities.
This collaboration aligns with NATO’s defence innovation and capability development priorities, focusing on technologies that meet current and future operational requirements, particularly in Arctic and sub-Arctic conditions. Through integrated commercialization pathways, R&D collaboration, and targeted infrastructure investments, ConvergX and GreyLevel will ensure Canadian and allied innovations are rapidly tested, validated, and brought to market.
“This partnership represents the very essence of cross-sector innovation and commercialization,” said Kimberley Van Vliet, Founder of ConvergX. “By combining our networks, expertise, and infrastructure, we are creating a commercialization engine that transforms ideas into operational capabilities, while driving economic growth and job creation across Alberta, the Yukon, Canada, and the NATO alliance.”
GreyLevel’s Arjun Grewal emphasized the strategic advantages of merging Alberta’s industrial capabilities with the Yukon’s Arctic environment. “Testing, validating, and commercializing dual-use technologies in some of the world’s most challenging environments ensures our solutions are both resilient and operationally relevant,” he said.
Key areas of collaboration include commercialization acceleration, defence innovation, aerospace innovation, and the creation of infrastructure and commercialization zones. The partnership will leverage Alberta’s skilled workforce, research ecosystem, and strong industrial base, while utilizing the Yukon’s strategic Arctic location for cold-weather testing and operational validation.
The initiative will be guided by a Joint Steering Committee to ensure alignment with shared objectives and maximize commercialization outcomes. Both companies are committed to co-investment, pursuing government funding, and engaging private capital to scale impact.
This strategic alliance underscores the growing importance of cross-sector collaboration in driving defence and aerospace innovation. By harnessing the strengths of both regions, ConvergX and GreyLevel are poised to deliver transformative solutions that enhance national security, economic growth, and international collaboration. The partnership not only strengthens Canada’s defence and aerospace sectors but also reinforces NATO’s collective security framework, ensuring that cutting-edge technologies are rapidly deployed to meet evolving global challenges.
