Reveal Technology Secures $30M for Cloud-Independent Defence Solutions

Reveal Technology, a defence tech startup founded by former U.S. Marine Corps officers and Stanford technologists, has secured $30 million in Series B funding, led by Ballistic Ventures. The round also saw participation from defy.vc and Booz Allen Ventures, underscoring growing investor confidence in the company’s mission-critical, cloud-independent intelligence solutions.

The funding will fuel Reveal’s expansion into electronic warfare and robotics, reinforcing its position as a software-first alternative to traditional defence contractors. Since its inception in 2018, the company has experienced explosive growth, with revenue increasing tenfold year over year. Its products, including Farsight tactical mapping software and Identifi mobile biometric systems, are now deployed across the U.S. Army, Special Operations Command, Marine Corps, and allied forces, including the Ukrainian Defence Forces and the UK Ministry of Defence.

Kevin Mandia, Co-founder of Ballistic Ventures and incoming board member, highlighted the strategic importance of Reveal’s technology: “On the frontlines, whether a global conflict or a public safety operation, success increasingly hinges on having access to the best intelligence available offline, under fire and in real time. That’s exactly what Reveal delivers. Reveal’s technology accelerates human decision-making where and when it matters most. It’s built by people who have lived the mission, and we’re proud to support Garrett and the team.”

Reveal CEO and founder Garrett Smith, who continues to serve as a Marine Corps reserve officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to operational resilience: “Investors are starting to see what operators have known for years: the most valuable tools are the ones that work when everything else breaks down. This financing helps us double down on building products that work offline, under fire, and in real time.”

The company’s rapid ascent reflects a broader shift in defence technology towards decentralized, edge-based solutions that operate seamlessly in contested environments. By prioritizing offline functionality, Reveal addresses a critical gap in modern military operations, where connectivity cannot always be guaranteed.

Neil Sequeira, Co-Founder and Managing Director of defy.vc, praised Reveal’s vision: “Reveal is building one of the most important defence technology platforms of our time, one that brings real-time, mission-critical intelligence directly to the edge. Their ability to operate without the cloud or constant connectivity is a game-changer for teams in the field. We were drawn to Garrett and the team from its inception due to their deep operational experience, technical rigor, and unwavering commitment to the warfighter. Defy is proud to support Reveal as they scale into a multi-product company delivering cutting-edge, decentralized solutions for national security.”

As Reveal expands its product portfolio, its ability to integrate cutting-edge software with real-world operational needs will be crucial in shaping the future of defence technology. The company’s growth trajectory suggests a growing recognition of the need for resilient, user-centric solutions in an increasingly complex security landscape.
