Nibe Limited, a leading Indian defence systems manufacturer, has secured a landmark Technical Collaboration Agreement with Elbit Systems Land Limited, a prominent Israeli defence technology firm. This agreement grants Nibe Limited the license and technology transfer for Elbit’s Precise & Universal Launch System (PULS), an advanced artillery rocket system capable of engaging targets with precision at ranges up to 300 km. The collaboration marks a significant milestone for India’s defence manufacturing sector, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to self-reliance under the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” initiatives.
Under this agreement, Nibe Limited will design, develop, and manufacture the PULS system, which it has named the Universal Rocket Launcher (SURYA). The SURYA system boasts impressive capabilities, including universal compatibility with various accurate and free-flight rockets, autonomous operation with an onboard navigation system, and a Launcher Mission Computer for rapid combat readiness. Its dual Launch Pod Containers (LPCs) enhance operational efficiency by reducing reload cycles and improving artillery unit responsiveness. This strategic partnership not only strengthens India’s defence capabilities but also positions Nibe Limited for global expansion and technological innovation.
The agreement aligns with India’s broader defence modernisation efforts, which increasingly emphasise indigenous production and technological collaboration. By integrating advanced Israeli defence technology with Indian manufacturing expertise, Nibe Limited is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing India’s defence readiness while expanding its footprint in the global defence market.
Financial details of the agreement are expected to be finalised within 45 days of signing. The collaboration underscores the growing trend of international defence partnerships, where nations leverage each other’s strengths to address evolving security challenges.
